In January 2003 the Stacy McMullen School of Dance was established at Hedworthfield Community Centre, Jarrow offering classes in Tap & Stage. The school had approximately 5 pupils when it first opened.  By the end of the schools first year they had over 40 pupils attending classes on a regular basis.  With the schools successful 1st year Stacy’s sister Emma decided to come on board and they were then able to offer classes in ballet and disco.

The school started expand quite rapidly and with the experience that Stacy & Emma had they decided to start entering pupils into competitions.  In April 2005 they entered their pupils into their 1st ever competition, it proved to be very successful and from this they decided to enter into more competitions and in 2009 they now enter their pupils into approximately 7 competitions a year throughout the North East of England.

The Stacy McMullen School of Dance at this point was very successful with over 80 pupils attending classes in Tap, Stage, Ballet & Disco.

In April 2009 they decided to introduce their pupils to gymnastics to allow them to expand their skills.  This proved hugely successful and they now offer a gymnastics classes to pupils 3 times a week.

In December 2009 Stacy & Emma decided the name of the school no longer gave the right impression of what the school offered so they decided to change the name to “McMullen School of Performing Arts” which then gave a clear indication of what the school was about. With the help of Decorum we did a total re-branding of the school.

The school is now very successful with over 130 pupils attending classes on a weekly basis.
